Guidelines on How to Measure the Space for a Sectional Sofa
Sectional Sofas are very famous choice of seating for both formal and casual living rooms, and recreation rooms and so on. The main drawback of these sectional sofas is their size. They are larger in size than traditional sofas which allow less flexibility with other furniture arrangements. The sectional sofa is measured in following ways:
- Measure all dimension: carefully measure the length, width and height of the area and note the measurements. Remember to allow space for the L-shape of the sofa and measure for different layouts.
- Mark the area: mark off the area with masking ribbon. This will give you a visual representation of how much space the sofa will actually occupy. Remember to allow room for walking around the sofa.
- Measure doorways, archway and hallways: Measure the hallways and all other areas through which the sofa will require to be carried when it is delivered.
Shop for a sectional sofa: Have the dimensions handy and check carefully to make sure that the sofa you choose will fit into all dimensions of your space. Remember that sectional sofas with large, bulky armrests or overstuffed cushion will permit for less seating.
